The St. Anthony Novena Ministry exists to serve parishioners and our patron saint’s devotees from diverse communities throughout the Archdiocese, with a nine-day Novena leading up to the feast day, June 13.
The vision of the Novena Ministry is to increase worship to God by propagating devotion to St. Anthony of Padua throughout the Archdiocese. The mission of the Novena Ministry is to provide a venue for St. Anthony of Padua devotees from within and outside of the parish to express their homage to their favoured patron saint.During the nine day celebration, there are Novena Masses from June 5 to June 13. The ninth day of the Novena, June 13, is highlighted by a procession around the church neighbourhood.
A secondary goal of the Ministry is to provide an opportunity for the devotees to express their gratitude to St. Anthony by sponsoring the celebration of the Feast day. Through their offerings they provide a token of thanksgiving for prayers answered. and for their intentions. The feast day offerings are shared in keeping with St. Anthony’s spirit of love for the poor. The offerings also go towards the celebration of the Feast day and a gift to the Parish for special liturgical needs that enhance devotion to St. Anthony.
The Novena Ministry is comprised of leaders from our Parish Ministries and a devoted group of volunteers who collaborate and share their time, talent and treasure to organize a joyful celebration of St. Anthony of Padua’s feast day. The Ministry members meet three to four times a year in the Parish church hall meeting room.
