The Mental Health Ministry at St. Anthony of Padua Parish endeavors to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone to learn about mental health, pray for healing, access resources, support one another, and share stories.
Our mission is to affirm the dignity of every person made in God’s image, accompanying each individual with compassion and prayer so that all may thrive in Christ.
Our ministry focuses on education, accompaniment, and advocacy; we do not provide clinical services. We aim to increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations.
To support this mission, we are pleased to offer The Sanctuary Course for Catholics. This eight-part small group course is designed to raise awareness and foster conversations about mental health in local parishes. Created in collaboration with Catholic mental health professionals, theologians, and clergy, the course offers our faith community an opportunity to grow in supporting those living with mental health challenges.
Course details:
- Topics Covered: Mental health and mental illness, stigma, recovery, accompaniment, self-care, and community.
- Format: Sessions feature compelling films sharing stories of Catholics with lived experience, alongside insights from archbishops, theologians, and psychologists.
We invite you to join us. For more information, please contact Anna Lam at mentalhealth@stanthonyvan.com.
